Best Food Delivery Apps To Work For

Similar to Postmates, DoorDash is a delivery service that is available in thousands of cities across the US and Canada, such as New York, Los Angeles, Silicon Valley, Toronto, Vancouver, and more.

This is important because that means that there’s more demand for DoorDashers. You could move to different cities and still be able to work with DoorDash.

DoorDash is also great as it pays you a minimum rate per delivery and lets you keep all your tips. This means that if the order is less than the minimum rate, DoorDash will make up for the difference.

To sign up for DoorDash, you’d need the following:

  • Valid drivers license
  • Valid insurance.
  • According to their website, you also can’t have more than three moving violations in the last three years or any major violations at all.

This is another delivery service that allows people to get easy jobs and make money fast.

The main gist of InstaCart is similar to that of other grocery delivery services. However, a lot of the review sites do say that Instacart is the best delivery service if you’re looking for a delivery service solely for grocery shopping.

Former Instacart Shoppers also report making upwards of $20 per hour.

The thing with InstaCart is that you’ll spend most of your time delivering groceries instead of restaurant meals. With that said, you’ll also have to shop for the orders aside from delivery.

While this means that each order will take longer, you’re also likely to earn more per order than you normally would if you were to use other delivery apps.

To become an Instacart driver, you’d need to fulfill the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Eligible to work in the US
  • Constant access to a vehicle with insurance
  • Access to a newer model smartphone
  • Be able to lift between 30 to 40 pounds

Another unique delivery service is Eaze, the only marijuana delivery company that hires drivers to go around and deliver marijuana to paying customers.

Eaze drivers tend to make around $15-$18 per hour and can keep 100% of their tips, according to Glassdoor.

Drivers also get mileage reimbursement every two weeks. This payment can make a big difference in your earnings as this is the only delivery service that we know of that does this.

However, it’s also important to note that Eaze is only available in California, and the screening process is sort of strict as you’d have to go through an interview and background checks before you could deliver for them.

Also, before you go sign up for them, please take note that you’ll have to be at least 21 years old to be a driver.

Shipt Shopper

Shipt Shoppers is an online delivery service dedicated to delivering groceries. With this service, you can earn up to $22 per hour or even more in certain cities. Additionally, weekly payments make it easier to earn a steady income.

Although there are a couple more requirements to become a delivery person for this company as you’ll need to fulfill the following:

  • at least 18 years old
  • have a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
  • lift at least 40 pounds worth of groceries.

Additionally, you’d need to have a basic knowledge of fresh produce as you will be shopping for the items and delivering them to the customer.

While Caviar may not be as widely available as other delivery apps, what makes Caviar one of the best delivery apps to work with is its potential to grow and expand as well as partner with other restaurants in different areas.

Additionally, Caviar drivers, according to PayScale, are estimated to make up to $20 per hour, and they have the option to instantly cash out through CashApp, which separates it from the other available delivery services.

While the pay may not initially stand out compared to its peers, take note that Caviar generally deals with higher-end products, so while you may be less busy, there’s more potential for higher tips.

However, it’s important to note that Caviar is only available in the following areas:

  • Boston
  • Brooklyn & Queens
  • Chicago
  • Dallas
  • Fort Worth
  • Greater Philadelphia
  • Los Angeles
  • Manhattan
  • Marin County

Of all the available delivery services we listed down, Saucey might be the only one that offers delivery services specifically for alcoholic beverages. As they operate in metropolitan areas, a Saucey courier must be familiar with the cities they’re bound to deliver in.

  • Austin
  • Chicago
  • Dallas
  • Fresno
  • Inland Empire
  • Jacksonville
  • Los Angeles

We’ve been using DoorDash for a little over a year now. My fiance is a truck driver that delivers to fast food restaurants and stays at a hotel two nights a week out of town. This evening, while he was home, we decided to DoorDash Chipotle. We ordered, sent it in, and he right away realized he forgot to switch the address…. our food was going to Kentucky, but we’re in Ohio! He was able to call our DoorDasher, she said she wouldn’t pick up the order, and suggested we call customer service in regards to a refund. He called customer service and she explained that the order was already sent to the store, meaning they were already creating the order, so we probably wouldn’t be able to get our money back from that, but she’d talk to her supervisor to see about at least refunding delivery/DoorDash fees. After listening to 5-6 rounds of what sounded like the Cruella de Ville instrumentals (lol) she came back on the line and said her supervisor completely understood the mistake and gave a FULL refund! We were ready to accept a total loss and they took us by surprise!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you, DoorDash!!!!
